Swansonic is all about getting people interested and inspired by music. We make AI and non-AI music tools and resources which we hope will get people excited about music making and music education.
Music is good for all of us!
Our aim is to create tools that will encourage everyone, especially the next generation, to become more musically involved.
Swansonic is currently working on a suite of very different programs. Several of our programs are nearing beta development in which we will have a soft release hopefully in the next month or two.
Quill is the result of a cooperation between Swansonic and the University of Music Franz Liszt, Weimar. This generator can produce snippets and sketches in the style of many classical composers and genres. The user can also edit the result and continue a generation or even upload their own music to see how the machine expands upon one's own composition.
This chord progression generator can produce progressions in a very wide range of styles: jazz to hip-hop, k-pop to country. The tool is designed as a means for composers to play around with different types of chord progressions; to get away from the typically overused four chord based patterns that we are all so used to in pop genres these days. (A pen by the way is a female swan)
Swansong is an orchestral generator capable of producing fully orchestral sketches. It is capable of composing from scratch or orchestrating a chord progression, a melody, bass line or both. Although Swansong was one of the first successful prototypes that we developed, it has proven to be an extremely difficult program to put into production because of its complexity. Our hope is that it will encourage more individuals to explore music notation!
Swansonic is eager to develop a wide range of educational programs, resources, and even games. We are particularly interested in developing programs which can be used to excite the younger generation about music and music theory. One of our newest research projects is to investigate creating a music specific chat bot that can both write and understand musical scores.
Our CEO Alex Vaughan is an Australian composer, music theorist, and presenter of the music education YouTube channel Score Circuit. He taught for many years at the University of Music Franz Liszt, Weimar, and has worked internationally with high-ranking orchestras, theaters, and music festivals. Alex is a world-leading music AI specialist and the primary developer of Swansonic's technologies.
Most AI companies operate without deep artistic understanding or appreciation for creators' work. They prioritize profit in ways that can harm artists' interests and compromise creative integrity. We believe that musicians must become involved in AI development if we are to have a voice in shaping the industry's future and ensure that these technologies enhance rather than diminish the artistic community.
